Woodbridge High School has been participating in FIRST since 2003. Our team won the "Driving Tomorrow's Technology" award in 2004 and made it to the semifinals in the Los Angeles regional in 2005.
Our recent robots include Hercules III (2006), Phoenix (2007), Zippy 1 (2008), and Zippy 3 (2009).
Also, check out our Summer Robotics Camp page to see what team members built during summer 2008 to learn more about robotics.
About FIRST: (usfirst.org)
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a robotics competition founded by Dean Kamen in 1991 designed to inspire young adults to pursue math and science. High school teams are given a six week time period to build a robot that competes in 3 vs. 3 competitions across the country. Over 1000 teams participate and the program continues to grow every year.
