Las Vegas Market; ‘The Most Comprehensive Furniture, Home Décor & Gift Market in the Western United States.’ If you’re asking yourself, is this just another headline? Think again.

Las Vegas Market is held at World Market Center (WMC), which is a 5-million-square-foot showcase for the home furnishings industry. It is comprised of three interconnected buildings with 40 floors of showrooms and more than 2200 resources. There really is no easier way to shop for furniture.

The Echoes team has attended this market a combined 27+ times and each time we apply what we learn. Here are some tips that may be helpful to attendees.

 

  1. Las Vegas Market is an appointment market.

Unlike typical conventions you can make appointments with your resources. Many sales people rep other lines and making an appointment insures your rep will be there when you are.   Of course it’s not necessary.

  1. Use show resources.

Explore the Las Vegas Market website and Mobile App for immediate access to maps, directories, scheduling assistance and travel arrangements. Map out your appointments and look for the access bridges between buildings.

  1. Set realistic goals.

Set realistic expectations for your meetings. Allow time for a brief business review and new product review. Be prepared. Have your numbers ready. Ask yourself, what do I want to accomplish at this meeting and make it happen.

  1. Do something different.

Dedicate time to find new products and resources. Take advantage of publications; read up on current and new business trends. Use relationships. Many independent sales reps have their ear to the ground on new business and they are the best resource for matching resources to retailers. Don’t be afraid to ask for what your looking for, they may just get it for you.
